Just look around you. From the ugly pizzeria sign on the corner to the postcard from a local business, bad design assaults us every day.
Now of course, some of this is subjective. We all know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. However, after 15 years each of industry experience, both Chuck and I have a pretty good idea of what constitutes effective — and ineffective — design.
Some brands, like eBay and Google, don’t have especially wow-ing visual design. But their functionality and marketing border on genius, thus overcoming their otherwise lacking visual representations.
Our aim with Fight Bad Design is to share our frequent rants and raves as we navigate the world through the eyes of a designer.
